About this event
The F.A.S.T Athletics Programs provide a variety of engaging sports and activities for children, focusing on skill development, teamwork, and fun. On Wednesdays, children aged 3-5 can participate in Mini Flag Football, where they will learn the basics of the game in a non-contact environment. Grades K-6 can enjoy F.A.S.T. Basketball on Tuesdays, improving their passing, shooting, and dribbling skills through games and scrimmages. On Wednesdays, Grades 3-6 can take part in F.A.S.T. All Sports, experiencing a mix of sports including soccer and dodgeball while fostering sportsmanship. For Grades K-1, F.A.S.T. Super Sports on Thursdays emphasizes learning foundational skills through various games, and Grades 3-6 have the chance to join F.A.S.T. Dodgeball on Fridays, focusing on teamwork and strategies.
Additionally, at H. Olive Day School, students in Grades 1 and 2 can engage in creative after-school programs. Guided Drawing allows them to explore their artistic skills with a focus on fall-themed projects, led by instructor Jen Pfeiffer, running from early October to December with all materials provided. Concurrently, Coding for 2nd Graders introduces computational thinking through game creation using tools like Dash and Blockly, enhancing problem-solving abilities under the guidance of Technology Integration Specialist Ellen Horton. Parents can enroll their children in one or both programs for a well-rounded mix of physical activity and creative learning this fall.
