About this event

The Medicare Advantage (MA) market and the hospital industry are highly concentrated. In this concentrated market, the price of hospital care provided to MA enrollees is negotiated between MA plans and hospitals. However, little is known about how the market power of MA plans affects the negotiated price, especially for elective procedures. This study aims to examine an association of MA market power with negotiated prices between MA plans and hospitals, using national hospital price transparency data. This event is hybrid - please email cghcr@brown.edu (mailto:cghcr@brown.edu) for zoom link.
