"Ghost in the Shell" (1995): Rigorously Curated Sad Robot (Sentience Was a Mistake) Film Festival

About this event

Join us this fall for three films that ask what it means to be human in a world where people and machines are becoming increasingly intertwined. For the first time, our Rigorously Curated Film Festival is being screened in the Main Hall of The Lindemann Performing Arts Center, and the Nelson Atwater Lobby will become a movie theater lobby, offering classic cinephile concessions (think popcorn, chocolate-covered raisins, all the good stuff.) On Wednesday, November 12, we'll be closing ou t the festival with the 1995 anime classic Ghost in the Shell, directed by Mamoru Oshii. Per the IMDB listing on the film: "A cyborg policewoman and her partner hunt a mysterious and powerful hacker called the Puppet Master." Open to all; free tickets required.ng on the film: "A cyborg policewoman and her partner hunt a mysterious and powerful hacker called the Puppet Master."
