"The Mitchells vs. the Machines" (2021): Rigorously Curated Sad Robot (Sentience Was a Mistake)

About this event

Join us this fall for three films that ask what it means to be human in a world where people and machines are becoming increasingly intertwined. For the first time, our Rigorously Curated Film Festival is being screened in the Main Hall of The Lindemann Performing Arts Center, and the Nelson Atwater Lobby will become a movie theater lobby, offering classic cinephile concessions (think popcorn, chocolate-covered raisins, all the good stuff.) On Wednesday, November 11, we'll be watching t he 2021 film The Mitchells vs. the Machines, directed by Michael Rianda. Per the IMDB listing on the film: "A quirky, dysfunctional family's road trip is upended when they find themselves in the middle of the robot apocalypse and suddenly become humanity's unlikeliest last hope." Open to all; free tickets required.nes, directed by Michael Rianda.
